Connect South Africa presents: Leopard's View Lodge

"Especially for those who want to escape to the heart of Big 5 country....without ever feeling like a tourist!"

Leopard’s View is an intimate, boutique game lodge set deep in the heart of the big five Balule Private Game Reserve which covers more than 30,000Ha.   The secluded cluster of three very comfortable en-suite African style rondavels surround a well-appointed lounge area and viewing deck, game tower, bar and dining area, and splash pool and from here game viewing is as simple as gazing out over the valley!

The camp is built on a hillside overlooking a valley where game come and go all day long.  The true magic of Leopard's View lies in its isolation.    Not a single light impacts upon the evening sky, and all you'll hear are the sounds of the bush … lion, hyena, jackal and a myriad night creatures of all descriptions.   By day the camp attracts a superb variety of birds and an endless array of wildlife visits the waterhole just below the camp itself.  Elephant, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, kudu and much more are often seen within metres of the deck.

You may choose to use Leopard's View as a base from which to explore the region with its many wildlife options, or to take a self drive daytrip into Kruger Park (a mere 30 minutes from the Reserve gates).   Or, if you prefer, you can relax around the pool and enjoy the tranquillity of our camp, isolated from the world and its hassles.   You'll see plenty of animals from the deck, the game tower, or the hide next to the waterhole.

  • Optional guided bush walks and after-dinner game drives are available by arrangement at a nominal extra cost. At Leopard's View the emphasis is on enjoyment of the African bush environment and its wildlife, the tranquillity of the surroundings, and the relaxed and informal atmosphere of the camp.

  • Leopard's View accommodates a maximum of six people at a time, ensuring high levels of service and a memorable African bush experience at very affordable rates.

  • The three en-suite twin or double rondavels are decorated in African style and have overhead fans, tea/coffee facilities, private terraces and books and magazines to ensure a comfortable, relaxed stay.  Guests can also browse through the on-site curio shop.

  • Full bush breakfasts, with a selection of fruits, cereals, yoghurts and juice, followed by a hot English breakfast, are served on the terrace.  Memorable three course dinners are prepared and presented with creative African flair. A cash bar is also available.

  • The camp is just 4km from the tar road and easily accessible by motorcar.
Transfers to and from Eastgate (Hoedspruit) and Phalaborwa airports are available on request.
